In addition to our Resource Library, we have compiled the following list of resource links to keep you informed on the latest developments in the afterschool field.

• Afterschool Alliance
  The Afterschool Alliance raises awareness of the importance of afterschool programs and offers research and tools for starting or improving your own local program.
• Children’s Defense Fund
  The Children’s Defense Fund educates the nation about the needs of children and offers opportunities for taking action on behalf of our children.
• Child Trends
  Child Trends is a nonprofit research organization that studies children, youth, and families in order to improve policymaking. The organization offers fact sheets, project information, and briefs on critical issues faced by young people.
• Corporation for National Service
  The Corporation for National Service provides a list of practical resources for planning and sustaining afterschool programs, including tools for start-up, training tutors and mentors, coordinating volunteers, and evaluation.
• Fight Crime: Invest in Kids
  Fight Crime: Invest in Kids is a group of law enforcement professionals and crime survivors who join forces to prevent violence, particularly during afterschool hours.
• Finance Project
  The Finance Project provides strategy briefs, funding guides, and sustainability self-assessments to assist afterschool providers in funding their programs long-term.
• FIXNOLA.org
  Helping New Orleans help itself by matching civic-minded New Orleanians with volunteer opportunities throughout the city.
• Greater New Orleans Community Data Center
  The Community Data Center is a non-profit organization that provides information and mapping for the Greater New Orleans area, including afterschool provider mapping.
• Harvard Family Review Project
  The Harvard Family Review Project provides a searchable database of several hundred afterschool program evaluations.
• National Afterschool Association
  NAA is a network of afterschool professionals offering public policy recommendations and updates, publications, products, and the latest news and events related to afterschool and school-age care.
• National Afterschool Resources
  Afterschool.gov connects parents, teachers, afterschool providers, and kids to federal and nonprofit resources for assistance with funding, planning activities, and other critical issues like child abuse or special needs.
• National Institute for Out-of-School Time
  The National Institute for Out-of-School Time at Wellesley College provides information on school-age child care, including publications, a fact sheet, links to other resources, and training.
• Partnership for Family Involvement in Education
  The Partnership provides a comprehensive listing of U.S. Department of Education publications on family and community involvement, including afterschool programs and resources.
• P/PV
  Public/Private Ventures is an action-based research, public policy, and program development organization that has done extensive work in the field of youth service and afterschool. P/PV is currently working with GNOAP to help establish and fund a citywide afterschool blueprint.
• Promising Practices in Afterschool
  The PPAS system is a list serv for afterschool stakeholders that provides a forum to share information about the afterschool field.
• SOS NOLA
  Save Our Schools NOLA is a new non-profit supporting parents as key partners with public schools and empowering citizens to help improve public education by providing access to critical information, valuable research, leadership guidance, and advocacy. 
• Southwest Educational Development Laboratory
  SEDL houses the National Partnership for Quality Afterschool Programming. The website includes toolkits for providers in the areas of math, literacy, and science, and a resource guide for afterschool providers with close to 200 websites and publications related to quality afterschool programming.
• U.S. Department of Education
  The U.S. Department of Education provides the latest information on education, publications, statistics, and the 21st Century Community Learning Centers program.
• U.S. Department of Justice
  Justice for Kids and Youth provides children and youth with information on crime prevention, staying safe, volunteer opportunities, community service, and the criminal justice system.
